The wrapper was a bit split and the burn canoed slightly at first, but evened out well. First ash dropped at about 1.75 inches. I love this cigar. Great flavor and a perfect hot day smoke. Lots of bright cedar notes and a sweetness, almost tartness in the retrohale. Very enjoyable and strongly recommended!
Straight cut opened up the draw nicely. Tasted a little graham cracker for a minute but light leathery flavor outlasted it. A bit of a creamy cashew and blonde roast coffee with nutmeg. A note of hay or grass appeared a little over a third in after setting it down for a minute or so.
Very tasty, great burn, flawless draw, but there's an imperfection on the wrapper which also looks a little worn, although it doesn't affect the important parts of the cigar (flavor, aroma, and burn/draw). Another great Paradise Lost. I'm glad I have a few more of these in the humidor, it's such a great summertime cigar. When the burn got close to the band I slid it off, but it was on pretty tight and tore the wrapper a bit. The good news is it didn't open up a hole where smoke could escape from, but it did tear the wrapper enough to look rough.
I cracked the fragile wrapper on the foot when pulling the cigar out of my humidor and then cracked the head of the cigar when I cut it, so I moved the band down to cover part of the crack to hopefully keep it from unraveling too much. Flavor started out tasting a bit stale with some mustiness and ashiness but subsided quickly and turned into an aroma and flavor of hay and sweet grass. After the first third a leathery flavor popped out with slight cedar notes. I took the band off as the ash approached it and the crack at the head of the cigar swelled and opened up slightly, but so far it hasn't unraveled too much. The cedar is more pronounced and the mustiness/staleness is pretty much gone. The final third is somehow less flavorful than the middle but it's still tasty and has a hay and cedar aroma. As the burn hit the cracked wrapper it did unravel but it was at the nub and I was pretty much done anyway.
