Damp oak and cedar on the cold draw with a hint of bitter dark chocolate and some lingering cinnamon candy on the lips. Cut with a v cutter, didn't pull the pigtail tonight. Easy light up, this one's been in the humie for several months. Brought it out and lit it up almost immediately. No dry boxing here. Impressed with the near perfect draw, exceptional air flow and incredible smoke production, would have liked a tad more resistance to the draw and it'd have been perfect. The first third opens with bitter dark chocolate, aged oak, and subdued cedar. Maybe a hint of toasted almonds or biscoff cookie. The burn line is great, small waves, no canoeing. Exactly what I expect from foundation. The ash is soft, fragile and white, reminds me of long nights in younger days when I partook in a different soft, white, luxury. The 2nd third mellows out, loses some of the nuances, flavors remain the same, just harder to pick up on. The retro increases in strength, moving away from the black pepper of the 1st 3rd and changing into togarashi powder and creamed Wasabi yet some how not quite offensive. Halfway through the stick and I'm getting some black tea, Grey poupon, and leather. Is that soft serve vanilla ice cream I'm getting? The retro changes again, spicy Mexican tamarind candy. Something green, dollar bill? I'm a fan of Foundation, particularly the Olmec Maduro. This isn't that, but I'm not complaining, I didn't quite expect it to be. Beginning the final 3rd, the black tea is strong. The green I got was fresh, unroasted coffee beans, I'm sure of it. Smoked Hershey syrup lingers on the palate, I think I want brisket tomorrow. I finally sip my old fashioned. I'm out of walnut and cocoa bitters, the classic bitters don't do it the same way for me. The black tea gives way to fig newtons, sweet pulled pork, maybe a carmalized porkchop. There's the oak again, cedar is gone. Hints of ammonia now on the retro, more common than I'd like. How long must you rest a cigar, named in the humie for this to dissipate? Asparagus presents itself, not an attractive quality. Where'd the chocolate go? I should have smoked the red meat lovers I was saving. My mouth is coated in federal reserve notes. Sad finish for a decent beginning. I'm displeased.
