Cuba Libre

This is a very inexpensive cigar from Plasencia. Mine is an easy decade old. I've had a bunch of these floating around in my humidors for ages. A simple stick with earth, leather, wood and a hint of pepper. A great yard work smoke. These days they go for maybe $4, I would bet I paid maybe $2 way back when.

Everything comparable to the last one I smoked.

Lots of strong black pepper on the retrohale. Some spice on the tongue during the draw. Good amount of thick smoke. The ash was very tight and stayed on until it reached the band, where I finally knocked it off. The burn was pretty good until I knocked off the ash, then it started to canoe. The cigars have been resting in my humidor at around 68-69 RH for about three weeks and I've noticed a definite improvement in taste from the very first one I smoked. Which was shortly after I received them. Still not very fond of this particular cigar. But age and rest definitely improved it.

Decent smoke. Uneven burn though. Can't taste any particular flavor notes, but isn't "peppery" on the retrohale. Stopped smoking once it reached the band because it started tasting "ashy" to me. Not one I'd buy on it's own.
