Just The Tip

It's a chilly, windy 32°F tonight but temps are expected to drop about 40° this weekend so I figured I'd smoke while it's "warm." I went with a robusto to keep it relatively short, and decided on an old favorite. This Just the Tip is a bit stronger than i remember but that's welcome when it's cold. The wrapper started to split within the first half inch (also expected in the cold) but otherwise is smoking pretty well. Although the wrapper is really peeling away, the binder is holding strong and keeping a nice tight, white-gray ash. The draw is effortless with a moderate smoke output. Earthy, molasses flavor with an oak, vanilla retro. Into the second third of the smoke the wrapper is starting to show the roughness of the cracked wrapper. I'll be keeping the band on as long as possible to keep the wrapper from cracking further, but i know I'll have to remove it eventually and the wrapper will continue to crack down to the nub. Nearly down to the wrapper, the wind knocked the ash off. Solid construction given the cold and the wind. After carefully removing the band, the wrapper looks still intact. Fingers crossed it holds since it's mostly acclimate to the cold now. Down to the final third, a grassy/hay flavor appeared, overtaking the oak vanilla notes. After the ash dropped, the wrapper has stayed intact helping the ash to keep tight.

This cigar is quickly becoming my go-to smoke. The draw is very loose and produces a lot of smoke by just kissing the cap. The burn is even and the just off-white ash is holding on for over half of the cigar. The flavor is full of cedar, leather, and caramel with a hint of cinnamon and citrus. The ash fell off with an inch left on the stick. Best one of the box so far.

The pig tail cap unwound and tore off easily, creating the optimal draw. The flavor is a nice toasty, nutty flavor with a hint of tea as well as a honey sweetness. The burn is slightly uneven, having to touch it up every few inches. Aside from the off burn, this is a fantastic cigar. Oops, this cigar was Lost & Found El Systematico*, not Just the Tip. Habano Corojo wrapper, Honduran habano binder, undisclosed filler

Avs game 7 cigar #2. Had to run inside to do laundry and it went out in that time, so I had to re-light it, still taste great! Flawless draw and burn, just a fantastic cigar.

Accidentally added this cigar without the blend name: Just The Tip (formerly 'Half Cookie'). For a medium to full cigar, this is really mellow and easy smoking.
