Initial draws not bad. Bland flavor, befitting a $2.85 cigar. Torpedoed early Good candidate for infusion, maybe. Flaky ash

Great cigar!!! Very smooth from light to finish!

Definitely disappointed in the performance. But for 2$ it is what it is.

Great draw and burn. Ash lasted 3/4 of the cigar. Cool smoke all the way. First third tasted like green hay and vanilla. Less sweet and more peppery progression. Ended a bit acidic and sour.

I tried the belicoso version of this about 2 months ago and didn’t like it, but I figured I’d give the toro vitola a shot. Okay wrapper. Has gaps, cracks, and severe mottling. Cap is deep, but ugly and haphazard. It didn’t fare well against a double guillotine cut. Smells of nice coffee and hay. Cold draw is tight and tastes of sourdough, salt, and cedar. The burn line canoed in 2 places almost immediately. Very little smoke output due to wrapper condition. Flavor notes are oregano, salt, cumin? and barnyard, and not in a good way. Some mild sweetness, but that couldn’t redeem this cigar. Grass and white pepper on the retrohale. It was all I could do to even get to the second third. Foot smoke was decidedly unpleasant and smelled cheap. Flaky ash that didn’t hold on very well. Second third got slightly better, but not much. Grasses and buttery sourdough toast with a touch of sweetness were the main flavors. The finish has a floral note. Thankfully it’s very short. Bitter tobacco taste showed up an inch BEFORE the band. Never made it to the final third. Medium flavors, mild strength. Yes, it’s inexpensive, but that’s no excuse for this stick’s shortcomings. I can’t recommend this to anyone for any reason. Pretty much anything will be better. For the same price, I’d reach for Factory Smokes Shade, or a Casa de Garcia Connecticut. J.C. Newman is a good company, and I’m a fan of their Perla Del Mar, Brickhouse, and “The American” lines of cigars, but I may never smoke one of their Quorums again, even if it was given to me.

• Date: 10/17/2023 • Cigar: Quorum Shade Torpedo • Drinking: Cruzan Single Barrel Rum • Weather: 60 F, rather windy (went in shed) • Smoke Time: 60 minutes • Draw: Medium/Tight • Burn: Took a bit to light and began running almost immediately. Once I moved to the shed it burned evenly the whole way. • Ash: Average • Mouthfeel: Light -> Medium • Nicotine Strength: Light • Unlit Flavors/Smells: Chocolate raisins. Cinnamon. • Smoking Notes: First puff is full of toasted nuts and wood. Retrohale is rather spicy. I feel like I am needing to pull quite hard and not getting a lot of smoke. This is probably typical of the shape with tapered mouth and longer length. About an inch in I decided to move into the shed to get out of the wind. The draw has improved, and I notice more spice notes coming through. In the second third I start getting leather and faint hints of coffee. Final third the smoke is fuller with increasing leather and earth notes and a whiff of herbal tones. • Conclusion: A bright and approachable smoke. Lots of toasted nuts and cedar/wood notes that develops some deeper flavors of leather as the smoke progresses. A simple, straightforward, and pleasing stick. Draw was a bit tight, I would probably cut a bit more off the tapered tip than I did to get more smoke density. 3/5

Did a V cut with this one and kept getting bits of tobacco in my mouth. Sometimes cheap is not always the best. Wont get thus one again.

Pretty decent especially for the price not the best cigar but for 3$ you wont be disappointed. Notes of earth, leather and light cedar
