Peach and tangerine at light up, transitioned to coffee and dark chocolate with citrus notes, finally to dark coffee and citrus, woody annd ashy at the end. I enjoyed it very much.

• Date: 10/13/2023 • Cigar: Punch Rothschild MM • Drinking: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey • Weather: 66 F, no wind • Draw: Medium/Firm • Burn: Fairly easy to light. Very even burn; Only two touch-ups needed and none needed in the second half. • Ash: Slightly above average, the first ash fell suddenly at about 40% • Mouthfeel: Medium – Full and creamy no doubt helped by the slightly tighter draw than other cigars I have tried. • Nicotine Strength: Light/Medium • Unlit Flavors/Smells: As usual, sweet, raisins, chocolate smells. Dry pull flavors are almost nonexistent. • Smoking Notes: First puff is spicy with toasted almonds. Earthy with cedar. Retrohaling is a little sharp but doable and pleasant. Leather hints come out around halfway and the smoke has mellowed making retrohaling smoother. The leather really develops in the final third with some herbal notes and peanuts towards the end. This cigar is characterized by mostly wood, mild spice, and leather. The smoke remains cool and pleasant even while smoking it quickly but if you allow it to cool between puffs you get hints of chocolate and coffee. • Conclusion: The construction of this little guy puts cigars twice and even three times the price to shame. No tobacco in the mouth, no unraveling, and an even burn. Probably easier to achieve this quality in shorter styles such as the Rothschild, but impressive, nonetheless. A real joy not having to keep picking up the lighter to correct the burn. It is neither complex nor boring and paired with the whiskey certainly enhanced the experience. I sipped sparingly and waited until about an inch in before taking a sip so I don’t feel like I was missing any subtle notes that would be overwhelmed by the 45.2% ABV. It was still developing when I put it out and would be very interested to try this in a larger size to see how much more flavor it can get. Smoked down to a nub. A solid choice for a daily smoke considering the price. 3.5/5

Wrapper wasn’t nearly as good as others they are comparable, and the flavor of the tobacco was awful. I love stronger cigars and can appreciate lots of different flavors but this had an astringency and tasted ashy start to finish. Couldn’t smoke more then a third of the cigar before I was done for good.

Strong flavor and a consistent draw.

A wood and pepper taste on the retrohale. A tight ash with a little bit of "wobble" in the burn line on the first third and maintained it throughout the smoking session. Smoke was plentiful and somewhat thick. On the second third the retrohale had the same flavor notes, but with more of a "sharpness" to the retrohale. The final third was more of the same. It did keep wanting to go out if it wasn't drawn on for a minute or so. Did require one relight towards the end, because I had to set it down for a few minutes. Overall a very good cigar. Was part of a sampler pack that my local cigar shop put together, so I'm not sure of the price. But I think I would buy this one again. 😁

Excellent burn, great smooth flavor

Good draw, construction excellent, flavor is smooth with hints of coffee…

A packaged cigar from Publix. Humidity was 45% so it had sit on the shelf for long time. Dried out and flavor was stale oil predominate. Really could not taste much else because of that.

Very heavy. Starts off with full earthy flavors. Middle third tastes like coffee and raisins. The end of the cigar tastes very woody.
