Was visiting Puerto Plata via cruise ship. I sent Glen Hamilton an email a week or two in advance, and he set us up with a taxi and private tour. Glen, the owner, is a very warm and welcoming fellow who met us at the door and personally showed us around his operation. We sat and chatted while enjoyed cigars and beer in the lounge. Prices are very reasonable and I bought a box to bring home to Canada. If I am ever anywhere near Puerto Plata again, I absolutely will visit again. **Caution: Many predatory competitors will work hard to get you to the wrong place. If you want to visit Vivonte, ONLY trust Glen's driver and ONLY go into the shop in the picture.

Flyers starting their regular season means another Guffaw! I'm very surprised to say they won, but I feel like the real winner with this cigar. Lots of cedar flavor and very little spice, it's such an easy smoking cigar. Nice long ash, finally fell with about 2 inches remaining. After the ash fell the smoke got a little more peppery in the retrohale. Perfect draw, great burn (had a slight canoe issue at first), awesome flavor, and full score for appearance. It would be awesome to be able to smoke another one before the start of the next season, but I'll enjoy this one for now and not get my hopes up. Man, this cigar is refreshing. Some sticks get a little heavy for my taste but this one is just amazing. Fantastic all the way down to the nub!

Not a well known brand, but Vivonte does a great job with their boutique cigars. Had to buy a box of these because Brian Propp (Philadelphia Flyers alumnus) branded a cigar and I'm a huge Flyers fan. These are fantastic from the cedar and citrus flavor to the perfect draw and fairly even burn (it was slightly uneven at first) resulting in a 4 inch ash (so far). I only smoke these on special Flyers occasions (tonight's the first game of the preseason). I wish the Flyers had a cup contending team so I could smoke these more often. These are so good I'm going to have to buy a box of Vivonte Cigars that aren't Flyers related so that I can smoke Vivonte more often.
