TL;DR - an elegant, multidimensional smoke. I'll be back for more of these. 👍 6 mos aged ⏳️ This is my first Oliva. Really looking forward to this with high expectations. Prelight unremarkable. Goldilocks Construction and Draw. Light-up is as easy as it gets. Burn and burn line are great. Initial impressions are light nuttiness and light spice. Leather, toasted wood, and vanilla extract show up later. Overall, smooth opulence and full nic.

4mo in humidor. Burn wavy and draw a bit tight. Ash held until half way point. A lot of kick for 1st inch or so but calmed down. Rich flavors of coffee chocolate and spice. Also a hint of cedar and earth. The sweet and spicy ginger ale complented nicely.

3mo humidor time. Bit of a tight draw, used Perfecdraw. Burn a bit wavy. Flavors of cedar, leather, pepper, and a bit of dark chocolate

I love this cigar!! Rich, Woody coffee, Dark chocolate and cedar notes, Almost perfect Draw, good burn. What’s not to like?

Punch cut. Nice even slow burn. Easy, full draw.

Excellent cigar, one of the best I've tried. It just hits all the right notes. Bit of espresso, nutty, spicy, not overly peppery. Love it.

So a shorter review as I wasn't planning to smoke one of this pack for at least another 2 weeks, but curiosity got the better of me. Anyway like every other time I've done this: I consider myself a cigar amateur and my nose is somewhat impaired so your mileage may vary. Construction and prelight draw was great as is typical of an Olivia V. I've burned up a few Toro sizes before so I knew what to expect. Leather, white pepper, and minor fruit sweetness from the tapered foot. Guillotine cut and away we go. Lighting with a soft flame went well, but I overdid it a little and started a minor canoe. It evened out fairly quickly, but my fault nonetheless. Draw is firm until passing the tapered foot. First third flavor was pleasantly sweet with a kick of pepper on the tongue and nose. Fruity sweetness like dried apricots or plums. Smoke production was also like my previous forays into the V line: voluminous and clean. Retro is dry hardwood and lightly worked leather. Hard to describe the leather component, but it's a pair of mildly used gloves or a new saddle after a few weeks breaking in. Second third remains the same with the pepper picking up. Sweet tobacco notes and leather at about even strength, both behind the dried fruit. It's at this point my mother points out a funny habit I have with longer vitolas: I unconsciously like to look at the burning end... So head on I'm crossing my eyes. Thanks, mom! She's quit cigarettes decades ago and never liked the taste of cigars. But she keeps a pack handy for the once a month menthol itch. Ending the second third and pepper is at the front with the fruity sweetness backing off ever so slightly. Final third almost goes out after a lengthy discussion on an upcoming vacation. Fortunately I catch it and don't have to relight. Leather picks up and it hangs around the mouth a bit, which isn't a bad reprieve from the fruit. Halfway through this third and I haven't gotten any harshness or foul mouth flavors, which can happen if you don't let it rest long enough. Leaving the final third and entering nubbing territory... I will admit, I rarely get to nubbing things as heat picks up and I don't like the sensation, but guillotining this one worked out better than my usual lunch to keep the heat down. Sweetness remains and cedar takes over from the leather on the retro. Bright red pepper on the lips and tongue. At about an inch remaining, I finally start getting heat but no harshness so I wrap up. I rather like the sweetness, which I didn't get from the Toros. Water or something with a bit of sourness may be a better pairing for this than coffee. Although more resting is needed, these are pretty tasty after a quick stabilization. I keep comparing to the Toros, but the size difference and the 8 month rest time I gave those make direct comparisons kind of apple and oranges. Couldn't tell you how long it took, I wasn't watching the time.

Super great stick to be bought from a convenience/liquor store

Nice dark wrapper, tight seams, no visible veins. Slightly tight draw, not too bad. Good smoke production. Burn is flawless, straight, thin burn line. Went out twice,sube a bit over humidified. Start is pepper forward, string, flavorful, loses de pepper after third minutes and gets more woody, liquorice appears… Rich and decadent… Yum!

Not as strong as the Oliva Serie V Melanio. Same quality construction, attention to detail.

It's better than the robusto. Really like the figurado. Again not a l of flavor changes but solid

Very nice cigar for a short smoke. Wood, cedar notes on the cold draw. Quick to light. Wood, coffee, slight pepper in the first third. The cigar gets stronger in the second ans Last third, more pepper, darker wood notes, strong but always balanced. Always a great smoke!

Steady burn that did not require work. Ash did not hold as compared to others smoked in humidor

Really nice construction leading to a solid long ash. Burns at a nice pace with little to no work to keep burning.

Very smooth. Chocolate and coffee notes throughout. Draw is a little light at times.

Hints of chocolate, leather, and lots of pepper. It wanted to tunnel. Has the even out several times. Decent smoke.

Love this vitola. The band seems a little too big for a perfecto, but no biggie there. Slight amount of tunneling at the start, but quickly evened out.

This particular stick was plugged pretty bad leading to a very tight, poor draw. I personally think more spice came out due to this. Heat was also much higher than normal due to the strength of pull needed for a good draw. Fairly disappointed with how this smoked.

Subtle sweetness, chocolate, earth and leather. Good smoke.

Nice dark wrapper, pleasant cold draw. Strong, but not overwhelming. The first third was pleasant, earthy, leathery, some sweetness. Draw was ok, but became quite tight in the second third. Not great burn. Disappointed because I love the 135th Anniversary. This has to Puff quite a lot to keep it going and it ran a bit hot. Hope the next one will be better

Beautiful smoke!

A bit too nutty for me and at the very end got a bit spicy on the tongue.
