Immediately nutty with strong notes of toasted wood. Bits of coffee and chocolate join the profile gradually and stay blended in. The draw seems a bit airy, but tolerable, and the burn remained fairly level.

Revisiting from 19 May. An undisturbed week in the humidor really helped. Smoothed out the 2d and final thirds. Medium bodied straight through, no conflict this time between the wrapper and the binder. Did not burn hot, smoke volume much improved. The filler blend remains well done, with a unique and pleasant flavor profile. At a time when the Nicaraguan imports are (still) growing at a double digit rate (source: Halfwheel), this is a welcome, milder alternative. Will let these sit for awhile to see if they develop further, but this was a pleasant surprise.

Light brown wrapper, no flaws. Usually don't go for a 54 ring gauge, but the box press here makes it seem like a more traditional sized toro. Easy draw, good smoke volume, even burn line. Medium bodied. Woods, pepper and cream in the first third. The retrohale is surprisingly mellow and creamy. Flavor expands transitioning into the second third, burn line becomes uneven, requires a touchup. Malt flavor takes precedence, not sure the Ecuadoran wrapper and Mexican binder are synching at this point on the Synchro. Remains medium bodied but with foreshadows of a build going into the last leg. Pepper on the retrohale, but the flavor remains consistent. Kind of surprising, since the four filler tobaccos are from four different countries. Does not burn "hot" at the end. Have to be honest, the La Palina El Diario has better flavor and is almost 4 bucks less a stick. Will give these a couple months in the humidor before revisiting to see what happens with those 4 fillers, but as it stands this is a consistently medium bodied smoke with burn issues. Might try earlier in the day with a coffee.

Hollow draw, very light. Decent flavor but I had to relight every few minutes even though I was consistently puffing. Gave up 50% through
