Schizo Maduro

Cuban sandwich mixed filler that doesn't seem like one. Great construction and burn. A woodsy spiced flavor mixed with chocolate and pepper notes.

From first light, it seems as if the very thick wrapper didn't want to burn, causing the cigar to tunnel. The snug draw didn't help the problem either. However, when the blend was burning together well the first third showed rich chocolate, lively cinnamon like spices, and sweet molasses (8/10). The body is mild to medium, and I would have liked the flavours to pop a bit more, but they were gentle, smooth, and delicious. The second third onwards had major wrapper burning issues, causing most of the smoke to come from the filler. This reduced the flavour and complexity significantly, dropping the chocolate, spice, and sweetness leaving only generic tobacco flavours. When the blend burnt well together the flavours started coming back, but constant burn issues plagued the rest of the experience. Thus, I will refrain from commenting on the rest. I'll give this one another shot on another day.

Smooth, with woody notes, a bit of leather.

Great flavor. Slight harshness in the first third. Uneven burn & slight tunneling. Overall very enjoyable.
