Midrange smoke. Ring gauge is below my preferred Toro or Corona Gorda. If I had to describe in one word it would be "teaser". Good flavor on the inhale, but no follow through. Few things worse than to be left wanting. I like Caldwell's Anastasia and King Is Dead Mad Mo Fo, but this isn't anywhere close. Better cigars available in the price range.

Great cigar. Love the flavors and burn. Really enjoyable smoke.

Good smoke. Dominican puro, and the Dominican corojo binder adds a nice layer of complexity. Medium bodied, cedar coffee and a hit of sweetness. Draw a little tight. Solid construction, like a cigar with an oily wrapper (Dominican Negrito).

This The King Is Dead was toasted and then straight cut. The opening flavor was straight leather, then the next puffs were more walnut and cedar flavor, with the leather still very much on the back of my tongue and soft palate. It's super flavorful/aromatic and relaxing. The draw is a bit tight, but producing a good amount of smoke and the burn is even with just a little waviness. The ash is bright white and the wrapper has a velvety feel. About a third of the way in, the leather dissipated slightly and gave way to more earthy and cedar, with a dark roast coffee in retrohale. The ash keeps holding tight with almost 2 inches of ash building up. The ash finally fell with 3 inches left on the cigar.

Almost drew too well, which is something I never thought I'd say!

Terrific medium cigar, very woody throughout with extra spice at the last third.
