First time smoking La Palina. Got this one in the mail yesterday, so it hasn’t had time to mellow in the humidor. Curious to see the difference with the others in a few weeks.
Not a lot of flavor on cold draw. Only a hint of wood and barnyard. Surprised to find it to be definitely full bodied medium strength in the first few draws. Quickly mellows to reveal some coffee with wood and leather notes. Slight burn gives way to mild white pepper on retrohale. Good draw. Burn line has stayed straight through first 1/3. Pairs nicely with my morning coffee.
Starts to canoe a little in second 1/3. Flavors of wood and coffee still prevalent adding a hint of black pepper.
Leather is beginning to come to the forefront as I get into the last 1/3.
