Inspirado Red

Very nice smooth mellow smoke.

Smooth tabacco flavor with hints of mineral. Very nice draw android burn. Nothing spectacular but a good weeknight cigar.

I had liked the previous one's hopefully this is a one off as I have an entire box.

Usually pretty good. This one was a disappointment.

Apparently, Macanudo used to be generally known for it’s milder blends, but if anything, the Inspirado Red can’t be considered ‘Mild’ at all. Created for the 50th anniversary of the brand, the Inspirado Red is a well constructed cigar that sports a nice dark and oily wrapper. The band is colourful and shiny, but fits the cigar well. The Aroma really impresses from the start, and after ‘a cut and a light’, notes of cappuccino, dark chocolate, wood, some pepper, and hints of Anise can be discovered. With an almost perfect burn, an ideal draw, and great taste, the Macanudo usually entertains me for a good two hours, and ticks all my boxes to earn a solid score!

Very very mid

Good smoke balanced of red pepper and cedar notes.

The wrapper seemed pretty dry compared to others in my humidor and had a small crack in it which only got worse as I smoked it. The flavor was fairly strong and peppery at the start, but mellowed a tad about halfway through. This was purchased in the Inspirado sampler, and was the most robust of the package. I started off with a v-cut but the draw seemed a bit tight. I opened it up with a straight cut and the draw was great.

Decent fruity leather undertone at the beginning but halfway through the black pepper was way to much to handle. Couldn’t finish Becuase of it. Wouldn’t smoke again

Real wonky burn line and a draw that's just a little tight. First retrohale was a blast of pepper. After that the retrohale wasn't as harsh. Burn had to be finally touched up going into the second third. After finally using a reamer to open up the draw, the cigar developed a salt note. Possibly caused by the reamer? Using the reamer twice and the draw was still pretty tight. In the final third the cigar looked like it wanted to start coming apart at the burn line. Poor construction and a funky taste makes this a no-go for me.
