Hard to beat the Don Carlos, unless you have a heavy palate (read: a Nicaraguan puro aged under 2 years is your preferred). Pairs very nicely with red wines, tonight it's a Catena malbec from Argentina. Well constructed, balanced blend. Draw was a bit tight, but no relights, no touching up necessary.

Lateralled over from my usual Fuente, the Hemingway Signature, to get a friend to stop bugging me to try the Don Carlos. Very very pleasant medium bodied smoke. The Cameroon wrapper shines here. If you're developing your cigar palette and want a reference point for Cameroon hard to do better than this. Binders and fillers are Dominican, smooth nutty with a mineral trace. Good construction, very nice smoke volume for a corona. Even burn, held the ash to about an inch and a half.

This one burned perfectly, and had a great draw. The flavor was in line with other Don Carlos that i have had, with a little more citrus coming through which was not necessarily a good thing, but it was still very enjoyable. So far the robusto is my favorite.

Always a Great Smoke! Great Build, Great draw, plenty of smoke. Burn was just ok as it was very windy. Woody, some black Pepper, gets earthier and leathery in the last third.
