Adventura

A fantastic blend of flavors! This version of the Royal Return barberpole presented mostly leather and spice profiles, with possibly some wood undertones. The burn and draw were absolute perfection.

Jose Seijas

This puppy is slap full of cedar and spice all the way through! The draw is a little open, although still smooth, and produces quite a bit of smoke output. The drawl stayed almost perfect. The retro presents intense spice without being harsh.

Plasencia

Consistent review. Milder flavor than the darker 1865. The profile is generally nutty with touches of cedar and floral notes. Super clean appearance, great draw, great burn. A fantastic cigar as expected from this line.

Raices Cubanas

This one boasts a bold blend of wood notes mixed with dark chocolate and pepper. However, that boldness does not translate into anything bitter. The draw is smooth with just a little bit of resistance, and the burn only needed one minor correction. Pretty impressive cigar.

E.P. Carrillo

Updated review, 11 months of rest. Flavor notes are of smooth chocolate with a little coffee, but there is also something grassy or hay like about it as well. The draw was overly airy this time, but the burn managed to stay even. Decent cigar but hasn't been consistent.

Powstanie

Updated review, full year of rest. The initial light-up introduced strong notes of pepper, but the bold notes soon balanced out within the entire profile with notes of cream and hints of citrus. Smooth draw, but the burn was only slightly better than the first one a year ago. A good smoke overall.

Adventura

An interesting mix here with the blended wrappers. The flavor profile is a little nutty with a touch of wood. No harsh pepper comes through. The draw and burn is absolutely perfect.

Illusione

Here's a mild-to-medium smoke primarily consisting of toast, cream, and just a hint of spice. The draw stayed smooth with quite a bit of smoke output, while the burn only wavered a little. Soft on the construction, but that didn't seem to hold it back. A good standard cigar.

Warped

A deeper & bolder presentation of the Corto. This blend gives out notes of cocoa, smooth coffee, and baking spices. There was absolutely no bitterness at any time. Smooth draw and burn.

United Cigars

This came to be a very flavorful and smooth blend. Profile notes consisted primarily of honey and spice, with touches of leather as well. The draw and burn were amazing throughout.

Hermanos De Armas

This is a seriously smokey cigar! Although the construction is firm, the draw is open producing a ton of smoke. The flavor profile leans towards a bold earthy tone with sweet aromas. The retro gives an intense peppery hit. An instant hit!

Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust

I always thoroughly enjoy this blend. It is super dark and bold with notes of leather, pepper, and coffee that never back down. The draw and burn are absolutely fantastic with a solid construction providing a great base.

Plasencia

Updated review. An already great cigar seems smoother with a year of age! Creamy, peppery, and toasty throughout. Very smooth and enjoyable. Perfect draw and appearance.

Aging Room

This one is a super rich cigar with profiles of espresso and sweet dark coffee. The draw is open with a fairly even burn. An appearance, the rapper is dark and oily with a very elegant band.

Plasencia

Consistent review. A silky smooth classic. Mild spice with a subtle blend of nuts and honey. Very smoky with a clean easy pull. The draw can be a tad too open, but it does not seem to affect to clean burn throughout the smoke.

E.P. Carrillo

Continued review. Well blended flavor notes of smooth chocolate with a little coffee, but there is also something grassy or hay like about it as well. The draw was slightly better this time than previously, however the burn did need if you touch ups this time around.

An interesting blend here. Flavor notes consist of strong cedar, light pepper with a little spice, and vanilla undertones. The draw is a little tight but still acceptable. Even, so the burn remained even the entire did. Construction is only slightly soft with minute veins.

Powstanie

A beautiful new addition to their lineup. The dark oily wrapper brings flavors of cocoa, coffee, and pepper, with touches of wood here and there. This creates an amazingly blended profile. The draw was superb, the burn stayed fairly even, and the appearance in cigar and banding is incredibly elegant. Smoked in Alicante Spain.

Dapper

Attempted to smoke while walking around Alicante Spain. However, this became the first Dapper cigar I've put down. It began tunneling SEVERELY, and upon cutting down the center leaf was missing until about the last two inches. There was obvious missing leaf. I started getting earth and pepper but couldn't smoke enough to be sure. I've got more to retry later on.

Bolivar

A good classic Bolivar that's not on the Cuban side of their blends. Classic aged tobacco with just a touch of earth and spice. Firm construction, smooth draw, and decently even burn. A good rotation cigar to keep around.

Byron

Repeated review. A lighter wrapper in appearance, but the entire profile brings notes of rich smooth tobacco, creamy tones, and some cedar flavor. Great burn, almost perfect draw, and great construction. Still an incredible smoke.

Room 101

Smooth cigar, with simple notes of leather and a baking spice I can't put my finger on. The draw is open and the burn stayed incredibly even. Not as bold as some of the previous annual blends.

Oliva

Nothing here but coffee and spice goodness! The tapered first provides an intriguing gradual change in the draw that opens up more flavor as you go. Level burn and great construction.

DBL

This one did not end how it started. The beginning brought up flavors of dark chocolate, leather, and subtle spice. The draw was airy, but the burn stayed even. However, by the final third the cigar has turned into nasty, earthy ash.

Matilde

A very nutty profile with strong tones of wood and pepper. An incredibly smooth draw and burn as well. Acquired in a blind buy pack and very pleased. Medium firm construction, good cigar overall. Smoked in the port of Ponta Delgada, Portugal.

Blackbird Cigar Corp

This is a simpler cigar in terms of flavor, boating flavor notes primarily of a mild wood with subtle pepper and spice. Nothing complex, but it burns perfectly even. The draw is smooth and the appearance is simplistic.

Apostate

Of the initial 6 blends from Apostate, this one had the least flavor. The profile consists of sweet spice and nuts, but very minimal. The burn refused to stay even, which may be due to the wide boxpressed format. Draw and appearance were great though. Decent, but not top-tier like the others are.

Sinistro

Notes are full of charred cedar, a little pepper and some leathery tones. Flavor was good, but unlike the pre-release that was built well, this one was severely over packed and refused to burn evenly. Corrections were made every inch.

Illusione

This is such a great smoke. Easy on the pallete with nothing too harsh. Flavor consists of cinnamon, cedar, and periodic bursts of vanilla. Solid construction, a clean draw, and very even burn.
