Liga Privada No. 9

I've been waiting to try this for 9 months. Overall a good experience. Great burn and draw for such a large cigar. Flavor was just good, nothing special. There are cheaper blends I prefer. I probably won't shell out for one of these again.

Super dark, oily, and bold profile all the way around. Flavor profile heavily consists of chocolate and coffee. The draw is smooth with a fairly clean burn as well. Elegant but simplistic appearance.

Ok. This one lives up to the hype. Pretty sure I had one 10 years or so ago but don’t remember it. But kept hearing about how great it is so I got one and let it rest a few months. Definitely lives up to everything I’ve heard. Great flavor, nice and strong. Only issue I had was one side didn’t want to keep up and I’ll blame that on my humidor. I’d bet if I’d dry boxed it for a day or two it would have been perfect. Definitely worth considering a box purchase in the future.

Been sitting on this for about 6 months , smoked like a champ. Mellowed out a tonnnn, so creamy and balanced, no pepper at all. These No 9’s really benefit from a lot of rest, i just picked up two Belicoso’s today that i intend to put years on. Of all of their blends, i think the No 9 still reigns supreme.

This is a cigar full of full body goodness! Profile notes recognized was spice, earthiness, and a touch of caramel. Almost perfect draw and burn, with very slightly spongy construction, but not to the point of taking away from the positive experience. Great blend overall.

Rating: 4.5. Nice thick smoke. Leather and hints of chocolate.

One of my favorite cigars. I enjoy the taste, and the tamarind hints.

The main flavours were earthy and musty, with minerality and floral following behind. The pacing was hard to get right, when i smoked too fast the floral became a soapy like floral. If the pacing was just right, the floral sat in the background. If the pacing was too slow, cigar went out.

It's a sad day, this is my last No 9 from a 2012 box. Well, sorta, I have 2 that I have in a collection of cigars dating to the 1990's. I know they lose their nicotine strength but the taste just gets better with time. This cigar did not disappoint. The blend was even smoother than originally. The burn line was crisp and needed 1 minor correction. Draw was perfect and smoke production plentiful.

Box buy smoked to the nub. Reminiscent of coco puffs (cereal grain and cocoa) with a creamy finish.

Good cigar! I mainly smoke the Fat Bottom Betty and other similar sticks. But I wanted to branch out. I like this one!

Loved it!

So I decided to smoke this back to back with the Liga Midnight from Zeal Cigars. Zeal claims their house blend is an answer to the Liga Privada #9. Surprisingly they are pretty similar. The Liga Privada without a doubt wins in the area of construction. The dark oily wrapper was almost flawless. The draw was good with plenty of smoke and notes of coffee and Cocoa. However in my opinion the Liga Midnight had slightly bolder flavor. At less than half the price it seems the Liga Midnight wins when it comes to value. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has tried these two together.

Not as strong as expected. Good flavor. Unravel at the cap after cutting. Maybe use v cut or punch in future

Fantastic cigar. Great flavor that evolves through the smoke. Very mild finish.
